Philip Gonsowski

Phil has been a home improvement contractor on Long Island, New York for the past 36 years (as of 2007). He started carving in 1990 when his wife Gloria gave him a set of carving tools as a gift. Phil’s love of woodworking came about as an early age. As a young boy working with his father, his inclination towards woodworking and art was apparent.

“My father taught me to read the grain of the wood and develop my eye. It wasn’t until later in life that I developed the patience needed to be a great carver. The last ingredient needed is the encouragement which I got from my wife (Gloria) and my four children (Philip, Ben, Sara and Jesse) for which I am very grateful.”
